From 4–5 September, the Group on Insect Nutrition (GIN-TONIC, COST Action CA23127 - COST Association - European Cooperation in Science and Technology) brought together early-career researchers from across Europe and beyond for three intense days on "Methods in Insect Nutrition Research" - hosted by the Research-Institute for Farm Animal Biology (FBN) in Dummerstorf, Germany.

Day 1 was dedicated to theory (in hybrid format, so our online members could join too!). Standardization in insect nutrition research, experimental design, insect anatomy & physiology, nutrient analyses, artificial diets, digestibility, and the role of microbiota 🎤💻

Day 2 got hands-on 🧫🔬 Trainees rotated through small-group practicals in insect rearing, dissection, amino acid and fatty acid analysis, and axenic larvae.
